Only One Candidate Deserves To be President

We need to look at this consequential election in a different way.  For so long we've heard polling about "who can handle this or that better."  It's time to ask the question: "who DESERVES to be elected?" After all, these guys are not interviewing for a mid-level management job at Sears or running for town council.  They are interviewing with us - the electorate - for the job President of the United States.  We should be careful who we hire.

What should be the interview questions we ask?  I can tell you for sure that we are focused on the wrong things like "ideas." Everyone, including my 5-year old son, has ideas.  We care to much about eloquence: "Can you make a good speech, smile a lot, and read a teleprompter?" Will that help us in a crises?

Here are the only questions we as the hiring authority ought to ask: "Please explain clearly and specifically what you have DONE to deserve this position." "Tell me about your military experience, either as a member of the military, or having made decisions that have benefited our men and women in uniform." "Tell how long you have been involved in dealing with the issues we face at home and abroad."  "Tell me about your historical ties that bind you to this country."

Based on these questions, only one candidate in this national interview deserves the job....

....John McCain!

These men are trying to get promoted to the position of Most Powerful Man On Earth.  Which one deserves that?  A ladder climber who has been in the Senate barely three years?  Does Barack Obama actually think he deserves, let alone is qualified, to be Commander in Chief?   Why doesn't he wait four more years and gain some valuable experience learning about national security and actually visiting the troops in the field?  Why doesn't he run in 2012 or 2016 when one might be able to make a case for his readiness and worthiness?  Because he's a ladder climber, I guess.

But, as for now in this interview, he is not ready and does not deserve the job!
